I heard about the Mr & Miss Pta 2011 Heats and that one of the Mr Sa semi finalist’s that was with me on Tuks fm had entered so I went to support him. Now I don't know anyone in Wonderboom but I thought it would be a great opportunity to explore a new venue. :)
I met up with Shane Van Der Westhuizen at News Cafe Wonderboom. Just before the show started they still needed some guys to enter so I just said oh well let's give it a shot & maybe I would walk away with a title which would be great for my career but either way I could get some awesome exposure out of this!
The hectic part was that this year they only took 3 guys & 3 girls per heat no matter how many entrants and the quality of them. Guess there was no better way to see if I was ready for Mr SA I guessed. Now Mr SA & Mr Pta are not connected in any way but they are both pageants and have some of the same judging criteria's!
At the end of the night I was relieved that I made the top 3!
I was not prepared at all for this event, neither was my body. I didn’t even have swimwear but it all went down ok. Next step was the Final on 19 November 2010 at Recess (Centurion).
Next time I would be more prepared! :)
